About This Picture...
This is looking toward Donahue Pass
(the midpoint of our back country hike) which tops
out at eleven thousand
feet. I'm standing just at the end of Lyell Canyon,
about seven miles from
the trail head in Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite.
We had camped the previous night at
a beautiful site, just one hundred feet
off the John Muir Trail. Nice fire
ring, good logs on which to sit,
and plenty of fire wood for warmth and cooking.
